of 13 years (SD = 0.73) on the first wave and 17.05 years (SD = 0.80) in the
second wave.Teenage children are primarily (75%) of the birth of the US. Most parents (87% of dads, 90% of the mother) that the foreign births. The average age at the time of
immigration is 30.45 years (SD = 3) to father and 28.30 years (SD = 8.80) to

Research Method
|
The methods used in this research is a method of questionnaire. This a questionnaire given to teens and parents of Chinese descent American.

The
Operational Definition Of The Dependent Variable
|
The dependent variable in
this study are the Adolescents ' cultural orientation (orientation
of the teenage culture).
·
Tsai and Chentsova (Weaver & Kim, 2008) stated
that the differential mode and level of acculturation can
result in a difference of parent and child in cultural orientation, which didiartikan as
the extent to which the individuals affected and actively involved
in the traditions, norms, and practices of a particular culture.
·
· Portes (Weaver & Kim,
2008) explained that immigrant parents and their children good experience the
power of assimilation, children often assimilated at a
faster ratethan their parents, these rights are referred to as dissonant acculturation.

ways and means of measuring
the variables devenden
|
Methods and tools used to
measure the dependent variables are:
·
The way that the dependent variable used
to measure i.e. hiring do for indicators of adolescent offspring of Chinese-Americans. The
study divided into two waves, the first wave in 2002 and the
second wave of 2006.
·
· Tools used in this
study is a questionnaire. The questionnaire used consists
of two versions, namely the language version of the United
Kingdom and Chinese language versions.

Definisi
Operasional Variabel Independen
|
The independent variable in
this study are person centered approach.
· Approach centred
on people have been deemed capable of profits to
research about youth and family (Bergman, 2001; Mandara 2003). The
main aspect of the approach is people-centered emphasis on understanding
of the individual as a whole, not on individual characteristics or
variable itself. The power of the people-centered approach is
its ability to accommodate non-linearities and interactions
that cannot be easily represented in variable-centered model
(Bergman, 2001).

The steps Terapi
|
The steps used in this research process is:
1.
The year 2002 was conducted
recruitment in seven secondary schools in major metropolitan areas of Northern
California with the help of school administrators (selected based on criteria).
2.
Ask for approval from the
families about the study.
3.
Participants were given a packet of
questionnaires will be collected two to three weeks after the letter was
received by the staff of research participants.
4.
Perform advanced studies in 2006.Distribute two versions of the questionnaire to
participants, i.e. a questionnaire in Chinese language and the language of the
United Kingdom

Research
Results
|
Overall, the results of this research provide some support for the idea that dissonance-generation-related parental support and the level of community simtomatologidepression. In General, have a parent with a bicultural profile seems to be most beneficial if the same teen has a bicultural profile. Things to note in this study is not a mom or dad bicultural, but rather a combination of a parent and teenager biculturally. This configuration might be optimal, because it involves minimal distance betweenparent and child in both Chinese and American culture while still being in a family environment have the aspect of cultural values and traditions of China as well as the same values Tod by parents and children.

The Power of Research
|
The
strengths of this research is a tool used in the study in the form of a questionnaire is fairly easy to use by the subject so that data retrieval is not required in a long time as in the qualitative method.
|
The Weaknes of Research
|
The weakness of this research are vulnerable in use at research time wave 1 to wave 2 far enough, i.e. 4 years so it is a subject that can get on the wave 2 is only 80%.
