B. INTRODUCTION

A book written by Prof. Dr. Sugiyono entitled methods of educational research is abook developed from earlier Administration research methods (quantitative) and understand Qualitative Research. The book, entitled the method of Educational Research is a result of the mold-11 in October 2010. What are discussed by Prof. Dr. Sugiyono presumably in this book can be a guideline for intelektulal or circles of societygenerally. According to Prof. Sugiyono, Indonesia already over 60 years of independence but do not yet have the quality of human resources are adequate. It is in between due to the quality of organizing and educational outcomes from different lines, level and type of education is not yet adequate. Poor quality of education and the resulting 56th among others due to policy making, development of curriculum and evaluation system is not based on the results of the research are adequate. In order to improve the quality of the biennial donations at a higher level, then every effort that needs to be done to improve the quality of research. So that research can generate accurate information, it is necessary to use appropriate research methods. Research methods can generally be classified into three, namely: Kuantitaif, qualitative Methods and methods of research and development (R&D). In this book, the third such methods outlined in straightforward, clear, and complete with a language that is easy to understand and provided concrete examples  example. According to Prof. Dr.Sugiyono, most people often throw the question against both methods (quantitative and qualitative), if both of these methods can be joined or not. In order not to confuse the against the use both of these methods then in this short summary will be discussed in detail about the methods used. Hopefully what is presented in this summary can be helpful, at least for the author.

E. CRITICAL REVIEW

A book entitled Education Research Methods developed from previous books namely Administration research methods (quantitative) and understand qualitative Research written by Prof. Dr. Sugiyono is great for use by students in penyususnan thesis or among the General guidelines to be made in research. This is because in this bookfully explores the things relating to qualitative research methods, quantitative research methods and R D &. Moreover, in this book also presents systematics in the making of a proposal that is both kualitaif and quantitative.

However, although in the book titled this education research Method is pretty good but there are still important things that are not listed, including suggestions for obtaining the hypothesis and research ethics. In the book written by Prof. Dr. Sugiyono only presents hypothesis formulation forms. While suggestions for obtaining the hypotheses are not listed.

The way adapaun used to obtain the hypothesis that is inductive way, meaning researchers formulate a hypothesis as a generalization of the observed relationships. The intent of the researchers doing the observations on behavior, pay attention to thetrend-trend or possibly the presence of relationships and then formulate an explanation while about behavior is observed. While deductive way, hypotheses formulate dafter researchers construct theory as a result track – read a variety of literature (Ary, et al., in Furchan, 1999:23).

While that meant with the code of ethics of research i.e. the obligations of researchers towards the subject and obligations towards the profession. In the United States, guidelines from the Department of health, education and Welfare who now follow the code of ethics of the research that's been accepted by specifying that the "subject" who face risk "is a person who will probably suffer losses in physical-psychological or social as a result of her participation in the study (Ary, et al., in Furchan, 1999:469).

F. CONCLUDING

As the cover of the paper can be drawn the conclusion that the book written by Prof. Sugiyono can be used as guidelines in making a particular student thesis or among the public in doing research. However, in this book there is still weakness as already described above.
